Sheriff Wayne “Tiny” Wright
Sheriff of Woodford County
Sheriff Wright is a lifelong resident of Woodford County. He and his wife, Tracie, have one daughter, Brittany. He graduated from the Police Academy at Eastern Kentucky University in 1985. Since that time, he has attended in excess of 1000 hours of law enforcement training. Sheriff Wright began his career in 1985 with the Versailles Police Department, and in 1995 joined the Woodford County Sheriff’s Office. He has been active with D.A.R.E., and given numerous presentations ranging from Senior Protection, Violence in the Workplace and Neighborhood Watch. He is active with various organizations, including United Way, Versailles Lion’s Club, Buford Lodge #494 F & AM, Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church, Family Resource Council, Community Education Advisory Council, D.A.R.E. Board, G.U.S. (Growing Up Safe) and the Farm Tour Committee.
