The Woodford County Sheriff’s Office has received a complaint from a community member who received a letter from the “Tax Group Unit” demanding final payment for Nonpayment of Takes to the State of Kentucky with a 1-800 phone number to make payment.  Please be advised the Sheriff’s Office does NOT send threatening letters out demanding payment of property taxes.  The Property Tax bills are mailed out the last week of September and delinquent notices in February every year.  If you receive a letter of this nature please do not respond and report the potential scam to the W.C.S.O. at 859-873-3119 or 859-873-3126.

The Woodford County Sheriff’s Office is heartbroken by the tragic loss of Deputy Caleb Conley.  Deputy Conley made the ultimate sacrifice in service to his community.  We extend our prayers, support, and deepest condolences to Deputy Conley’s family, the Scott County Sheriff’s Office and Sheriff Tony Hampton.
